In 2003 Jerrod earned his BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art with a major in drawing and minors in printmaking, painting, and African literature. He has been a working studio artist, mural and portrait painter, and private art instructor since 2003. University of St. Francis and Artlink have both hired him recently to give classes and workshops for all ages in drawing, stencil cutting, and wheat pasting. He and his wife also run a one acre homestead where they develop sustainable arts and food culture. Tobias has said that this type of public work has opened up opportunities for continued learning and engagement in their life.
