Austin White, born and raised on the outskirts of Memphis, Tennessee, is an artist and designer currently studying at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Just before his sophomore year of high school, White’s father was relocated which brought them to Fort Wayne where White attended and graduated from Canterbury High School in 2014. Fort Wayne brought him a handful of opportunities as he was able to work closely with Julie Wall Toles in her local printmaking shop, Hedgehog Press. In Chicago he is primarily studying Visual Communication Design and also involves himself greatly in the Printmedia Department. At only twenty years old, White has already built a diverse portfolio of work which bases itself on themes of sexuality, gender, and competition among many more. He will be interning this summer with a letterpress studio in Humboldt Park, Chicago to continue his education and artistic exploration.
